Cassandra Cortez Gerardo
Designer | Director | Strategist
Designers solve problems and better the world through design. Without approaching design with this mindset, I find that designs fall flat because of a lack of insight and empathy. Through creative research, I hone and refine a client’s values and goals and create an articulate and insightful synthesized narrative that informs the design process. My passion lies in taking an abstract problem and turning it into a thoughtful and sophisticated design solution.
I am a classically trained graphic designer, designing professionally since 2008. My experience spans working in boutique design studios to companies of 10,000+ employees across multiple design fields and for a variety of industries. This diversity has made me agile in my creative and strategic approach to design.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a Masters in Design Research from the School of Visual Arts. In 2017 I won the Monotype Scholarship for Excellence in Design Criticism.
